Lent Series | FML: The Story of Job

Life doesn’t always make sense. Plans fall apart. Systems fail. Faith gets stretched. FML: The Story of Job walks through one of scripture’s most authentic narratives. It is given not as a lesson in punishment or easy explanations, but as an invitation to wrestle with God when life feels unfair.

Throughout Lent, we will explore Job’s story as a mirror for our own: loss, anger, bad theology from well-meaning people, spiritual exhaustion, and ultimately a deeper encounter with God that reshapes how we understand suffering and belonging. This series makes space for lament while pointing us toward resilient hope. It reminds us that faith is not pretending everything is fine, but growing trust in God even when it isn’t.

For Grace Chapel, this series reflects our commitment to being a place where people don’t have to sanitize their stories to belong. Join us on Sundays at 9am & 11am through March 29 as we journey this Lenten season together.

Lenten Mission: Care Collection

Drop Off by Sunday, March 29: Dish Soap, Laundry Detergent, & Toilet Paper

As part of our Lenten practices, we are called to serve and support the needs of our community. With the increased cost of living, basic needs are creating a financial burden on many families.

During this Lenten season, we will be collecting dish soap, laundry detergent, and toilet paper for the food pantry at the Colin Powell Community Center in Little Elm.

Bring your donations to the church lobby any time before Sunday, March 29. Contact Karen Smaha Ross at smahakm@gmail.com with questions.

  • Lenten Study: Why did Jesus Have to Die?

    Led by Rev. Kim Eiffert
    Thursdays | February 19 – March 26 | 7:30-8:30pm

During the season of Lent, we are opening our usual women’s study time to everyone in the church. All are invited to join this thoughtful and engaging Lenten study. Although the crucifixion stands at the very center of Christian faith, the New Testament offers few clear explanations of exactly how Jesus’ death saves us—or why it had to happen this way. Instead, the biblical writers use a rich variety of images and metaphors—ransom, sacrifice, reconciliation, victory—without fully explaining how they work. What if the problem isn’t a lack of answers, but the questions we’ve been asking? What if the cross is not a transaction to be solved, but a living Word from God meant to shape who we are and how we live? Our conversations will be guided by Adam Hamilton’s book Why Did Jesus Have to Die? Purchasing or downloading the book is encouraged, but not required. As always, you are welcome to participate even if you are not able to keep up with the reading. For questions or more information, please contact Pastor Kim at kim@grace380.org.

  • Sunday Morning Pastor's Study

    Led by Rev. Joshua Manning
    Sundays | February 22 – March 22 | 10:00-11:00am

Black History Month is not just a celebration of resiliency, but a commemoration of meaningful contributions. Join Pastor Joshua for a six-week book study exploring I'm Still Here by Austin Channing Brown, an honest and compelling reflection on faith, identity, and belonging. Together, participants will explore what it means to keep showing up faithfully in spaces that were not built with everyone in mind. P.S. - No expertise required. It is best for you to purchase the book and read along with this study, but don’t let that stop you from joining the discussion. For questions or more information, please contact Pastor Joshua at joshua@grace380.org.
